What you want to do is massage the paw for 3 5 minutes every hour to help reduce the swelling and increase the blood flow.
Swelling or mega paw as it is often called caused by a tight bandage can take a while to reside as long as the paw is warm to the touch and not blue in color then there should be no reason to go to the emergency vet.
It was wrapped for 2 nights before my friend took the bandage off.
Swollen paws are often caused by a foreign object getting trapped between the pads toes of the dog s foot.
The nurses said to leave it no longer than 1 hour after donating blood the compression of the bandage can interrupt blood flow.

Dog paw bandage too tight foot is swollen.
This condition mostly occurs on the front paws and especially to breeds like boxer and mops as well as dogs that are prone to allergies.
But note that other breeds are not excluded.
However the side toe is quite irritated and the foot is still fairly swollen.
The original wounded area seems fine slightly pink but no puss no funny smell etc.
Put a loose wrap on the dogs paw which will protect it against infection.
Glad to hear that the bandage is off.
The best way to help a dog with swelling due to a tight bandage is to either cut back the bandage or completely remove it.
Depending on how severe the swelling was the foot may take up to 24 hours before all of the swelling is completely gone.
That could be why your dog was licking and the constant irritation.
Signs your dog s paw is swollen if you notice that your dog s paw is swollen it is probably the first sign of inflammation.
