Silverado Door Handle Not Working

So i replaced it with one i had from previous trucks.

Work around the bottom and sides then the panel should lift off the window sill there may be some clips holding it there too. Since the door was bow open i pulled the door panel off and left all electronics attatched. Can you see if from behind the window switches if you pull it off. The outside not working is really strange.

It took a little work to force it back into place but once i got it back in place everything workedd perfectly fine again. Start by removing handles and arm rests etc whatever is obviously bolted on through the door panel then use a flat blade small putty knife to slide under the door panel along the bottom edge and pop the plastic clips that fasten the panel to the door. Dads door handle broke on his 04 silverado 2500hd. If the door will not open then the issue may be the latch but it may also be the linkage that connects the handles to the latch.

Does it feel like the handles are jammed or just not engaging anything. You will need to access the inside of the door panel to have access to the locking mechanism and door latch as well as verify the condition of that linkage. I found that the little ball on the end of the cable going to my inside door handle had came out of its slow. Inside door handle broke very easy i may say and then was told was 900 dollars to fix it.

It has been so long since i pulled the panel off i cant remember if there is a way to see the inner door handle cable without completely pulling it off.
